Jalandhara Bandha (llave del cuello): el Jalandhara Bandha está localizado al nivel de la garganta, es la llave más alta del cuerpo. Ésta dirige la energía del canal central previniendo que la energía se disperse a otras áreas del cuerpo, como los ojos o los oídos. Sella la energía generada en las áreas derivadas del cerebro. Esta llave concentra las secreciones y abre la relación entre ellos. También ayuda a concentrarte atrayendo la atención hacia dentro. Para aplicar el Jalandhara Bandha siéntate cómodamente con la espina dorsal recta, fortalece el cuello tirando la cabeza hacia atrás y la barbilla ligeramente hacia dentro y hacia atrás. Generalmente la llaver del cuello es usada cantando o meditando. Esta práctica corta la circulación de los líquidos de la cabeza, estableciéndose un circuito independiente. Hay ahí una red de nadis sutiles, y mediante este bandha se detiene el flujo descendente de los líquidos de la cavidad del paladar. El líquido que fluye desde la cavidad del paladar se describe como soma (néctar o elixir). Este líquido cerebroespinal se compone de diversas hormonas nutritivas que mejoran el crecimiento y desarrollo del organismo. Normalmente, este líquido fluye hacia abajo y es quemado por el fuego gástrico que agita el prana.
